One week in Addis!

Well, we have spent one week in Addis Ababa. It has gone really well! No one has been sick, we passed court with no trouble and we have made some precious memories with our new son!  We have been blessed by two new sets of friends and that is making our time so much more enjoyable.

Today, we were picked up by Germatchew from Kidslink and we delivered our excess luggage to the new guest house on our way to complete our immigration paperwork.  All three of the KL families did it together and it went really smoothly. We need to receive Bereket's court decree, and then his birth certificate and passport. After that, everything will go to the High Commission in Nairobi, where they will issue the visa. We have booked they new guest house until September 19th, and we hope that we will not have to extend it.  But if we need to, we will.

After the paperwork was done, we came home to Afroland  and Rob and Candy took their new baby up to their room to have a nap.  Poor thing had to have an immunization on his first day with his new parents! Actually, I think I feel worse for the parents! Lol. Paul and Karen and their new son Ibssa went with us to be Backyard Restaurant for lunch.  Once again the adults thought it was yummy, but the kids, not so much! Between having bites of everybody's food, I think they got enough.  After that, Karen, Dave and I went to the bank and the drugstore while Paul took the kids back to Afroland. Now I know the drill at the bank and it was not nearly as overwhelming.

When we got back, Karen called for a ride back to GT, but it took about 1.5 hours to come, so they hung out with us.  Their new son is so sweet! Considering he has only been with them for 1 day, he did amazingly well! He was pretty tired by the time they left.

Tonight we are ordering in Indian food and packing the last few things before our trip.  We leave for the airport at 5 am, so we have to be right ready to go!

Next post will be from Bahir Dar, assuming we have Internet access. :) Moms, I will email Kara our itinerary just in case. ;)
